Whack'n'Store

Carefully suppressing the urgency in her voice, Robin a.k.a. 'Lovegirl' called from her strategic perch atop one of the dining room chairs next door. "Per, there's a really big bug in here and I think it might be a scorpion!". Contemplating the risk of crushing it in my sandals I pour a sniff of single malt for Michelle and decide I'll have to pick up a pair of rubber boots, the locals footwear of choice, the next time I'm in town.

Sure enough the little critter was hanging out on the closet wall beside the girls' shoes. Although four-plus inches it looked rather malnourished. Not getting enough sole food I guess.

Rather than risk my tootsies I give it a whack and scoop it up with a Tupperware container from under the sink. Kill'n'Karry Perry. Hey now there's a idea... different sized Tupperware containers (for different sized critters) with long flyswatter-like handles. We'll call the line whack'n'store.

Then again you can't go wrong with a good pair of rubber boots.

Hey Perry,

Just make sure you turn your boots upside down before you put them on. I've heard of nightmare stories of scorpions inside footware!

Enjoy the rest of your time in Costa Rica.

Hi Perry,
Glad to hear you are having a "whacky" time! We are all enjoying the beautiful Pacifica beach and scenery especially from Ian's living room window!! Yes, the new house is great. 5 mins to beach walking. The water is not as warm as Costa Rica..but beautiful. Ian wears a wet suit..surfing goes on year round here. Ian and laura are going to Tahoe for New Year Snowboarding etc. Actually snow hiking into a cottage 5 miles off road. We are going to San Diego for some more heat. There was an earthquake here yesterday..but we didn't feel it as we were in the car travelling from mall to mall to finish our Christmas shopping..I think I would rather be using tupperware in Costa Rica. Anyway Happy Christmas to you and all your little friends(in tupperware)..Sandy Ian and Blair

Nice work , Per. I killed one with a Corona bottle in Barra de Navidad, Mex back in '92... it was a clear (yellow?) one. Yikes... and this was on the third floor! Careful out there.I was so bad this year that Santa's only bringing me coal... so I bought myself an '88 XJ12.

NICE ONE! if the black scorpions bite you, they get you really stoned (apparently it is quite enjoyable), just watch out for the yellow and red ones, they kill you!

Just think of the time you might have saved if you had allowed them to spray you down with insecticide on the plane. Then all critters in your presence would have simply died.

Or should I say... "Per"ished?

Well Per you never seem to have a void of interesting things happening in your life - bug killer - perhaps a new nickname is in your future...keep up those good deeds for the holidays - good karma is always something you want a reserve of..

Merry
