A passionate entrepreneur, Perry opened his first retail store at the age of fifteen (operating after school and weekends). Over the next three years he developed the little skateboard boutique into two full-time retail stores, Toronto's first indoor skateboard facility, a national action sports magazine and his first international brand, Fishlips Skateboards. In 1993, Perry founded Limited Snowboards Inc., which went on to become the largest Canadian snowboard brand worldwide. In addition to his responsibilities as Company President, over the next four years Perry served as committee Chair and Director of the worlds largest on-snow trade association, Snowsports Industries of America (SIA). During this time he was also an elected Director of NSIA, (SIA’s Canadian equivalent) making him one of the only industry leaders to serve on both boards simultaneously. In 1998 Perry and his partners sold Limited Snowboards to the Volant Ski Company, LLC owned by former Olympian Hank Kashiwa and Apple Computer magnate Michael Markkula and, in 1999, returned to Toronto to begin his career as a Producer and Director of youth content for film and television. After cutting his teeth on commercials for Adidas/Solomon's Bonfire Snowboarding, and music videos for Sony Music Entertainment, Perry began to develop his dramatic skills under the apprenticeship of Richard J. Lewis (C.S.I., The Chris Issak Show) and Roy H. Wagner (Hart to Hart, Quantum Leap, Pasadena). In 2002 Perry began his relationship with the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) and surprised his friends and himself by setting a national breath-hold record, earning a place on the Canadian National Freedive Team. In early 2003 he joined technology investor John Textor and Hollywood Director Michael Bay as a founding principal of the Israel Global Television Network (IGTN). As IGTN's founding President, Perry worked with other principals to create a compelling business plan and startup strategy that attracted the support and endorsement of Israeli broadcast executives and government officials including former Prime Minister and Nobel peace prize winner Shimon Peres. At the CBC Perry produced radio documentaries while continuing to Direct and Produce independent film projects. In late 2004 Perry achieved Level-A Judge status with A.I.D.A., the world federation of Freediving, making him one of only nine instructors of judges world-wide. In 2006 Perry joined forces with award winning designer and long-time collaborator Tony Enns to form Brand & Tonic Inc., a brand development boutique specializing in strategy, communications and design. Drawing on the core strengths of its founders, Brand & Tonic employed their proprietary StoryMine discovery process to find, show and tell stories for an impressive client base including: Jergens, Royal LePage, Amsterdam Brewing Company and Aeromove. In 2007 Push & Pull Productions was incorporated under the B&T umbrella adding full film, television and media production services to the company's offer. Throughout his diverse career Perry has remained true to his calling to help organizations, individuals and communities define and build sustainable practices. From grassroots development to network broadcasting he is a natural catalyst, Coach and Facilitator. Perry is also a dedicated waterman and travels the world to surf, freedive and spearfish. At home in Toronto he entertains himself playing hockey and performing live music with his friends. Perry is available worldwide as Director-Producer, Strategist and Keynote speaker.
